Sharon Freeman, Ph.D., is the owner of Lark-Horton Global Consulting, an economic development consulting firm, and the All American Small business Exporters association (AASBEA). She is a member of the U.S. Export-Import Bank's Advisory Committee, serves as an Advisor to the Secretary of Commerce and U.S. Trade Representative on Trade Policy Matters Affecting Small and Minority Business, and as an Advisor to the U.S. Small Business Administration's (SBA) Washington Metropolitan Area office. She formerly served as the Chair of the DC Chamber's International Committee and as the Director of the DC Government's International Business Office.
Freeman received her undergraduate degrees in cognitive psychology and history and a Master of Science in management from Carnegie Mellon as well as a Ph.D. in Applied Management and Decision Sciences from Walden University.
Freeman has applied her Ph.D. research on the economics of immigrants to her recent work with the World Bank on Diaspora strategies in the underdeveloped countries of Africa. Overall, she has worked in more than 100 countries to promote growth and export development for small-, minority-, and women-owned enterprises.
