Tim Bolton is the founder of Operation Arise and Walk, a nonprofit organization that repairs donated prosthetic limbs and sends them to people in underdeveloped countries. While Bolton was serving overseas as a U.S. Marine, he lost a limb. Since then, he has been a tireless advocate for those who have suffered a similar loss, including landmine victims. He has met with lawmakers and other government officials and traveled to Africa advocating against the use of landmines.
Bolton, who completed an M.S. in Psychology at Walden University, is now a United Methodist minister at a southern Indiana church. He is also pursuing a Ph.D. in Psychology with a specialization in Clinical Psychology at Walden.
For his Ph.D., Bolton is studying the effectiveness of cognitive behavioral therapy in the treatment of phantom limb pain, a disorder characterized by pain felt in the lost limb.
